Have you played our games yet?

The Public Health Emergencies Training Program (Profesp) is using the "gamification" methodology as a training tool in the area of public health emergencies. In the context of health training, simulation, in this case through games, is understood as a technique consisting of task-based teaching, which requires an active attitude on the part of the student. Our aim is to simulate real public health emergency problems in a virtual environment, offering a practical and safe experience to develop skills and knowledge. To develop the games, characters, scenarios, aesthetics and narratives were created using a methodology of creative writing and storytelling from the symbolic universe shared by actors in the area of health surveillance. With a focus on an interactive and engaging approach, players go through mission paths and carry out mini challenges playing as characters who represent real sectors of Public Health Emergencies and introduce the courses, making the users' digital experience less impersonal and more welcoming. The player is challenged to make strategic and operational decisions in public health emergencies. Conclusion: The game has already been tested by representatives from 41 Portuguese-, English- and Spanish-speaking countries. Another game, "Operation Storm", is currently being developed, following the same methodology as the first game.

This game is a partnership between the Ministry of Health (SVSA/DEMSP/PROFESP) and Fiocruz (Health Technology Development Centre). Access our three games by clicking on the boxes below:
